Next Meeting:  The Florida Section board is meeting this Friday, December 11, however, we will have a dedicated 2011 AWMA planning meeting on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Walt Disney World, starting at 1 PM.  Exact meeting location to be determined.  Please mark your calendars.  Louise Wallach will also be in attendance.  We will have our theme and logo decided by then and we can kick off our marketing and planning campaign.  I hope you can attend in person.

Theme:  I really appreciate the participation in the discussion for the 2011 theme and logo.  We need a definitive decision by the end of the year.   There is a discussion tab on the Wiki to leave comments regarding the potential themes - http://awma2011.wikia.com.   In talking with Louise earlier this week, shorter is better.  We also have the unique opportunity to have continuity with the 2001 meeting “An Environmental Odyssey”.  We could build upon the 2001 logo with our new theme.  The AWMA marketing group are going to look at the old logo and the first idea of ‘Beyond Borders’ to try some concepts.    Again – please keep the discussion flowing for our theme.

Sponsorship:  Everyone is on the sponsorship committee!  Bruno Ferraro ( Bruno@grovescientific.com), Sponsorship Committee Chair, has formed a targeted group to help us raise the funds necessary to host the meeting.  Our goal is $250k.  We hope a key transportation company will sign up as the conference sponsor.  That would be a considerably portion of our goal.

Technical Program:   As the local hosts, we have the opportunity to add our local touch to the program:  panel discussions; key note speakers; and specialty technical sessions.  Please forward your ideas to Drs. David Cooper and Amy Stuart (cooper@mail.ucf.edu and astuart@hsc.usf.edu ).
